In this activity, each participant will create their own uniquely embellished prayer box. Guided by writing prompts, they will then add the first entry into their prayer journal.

Join us for a time of reflective creating, quiet music, and warm tea. Each participant will be given an unfinished wooden box, prayer journal, pen, beeswax tealight candle, candle coaster, and matches. Participants will then select papers and images with which to embellish the box and its contents. As things dry, participants will engage with journaling and poetry (pen and paper provided). Select words will then be transcribed into the prayer journal.

The prayer box can be carried to any room in the home, outdoors, or elsewhere to use as an accessory to prayer. For privacy or storage, the lid of the box can be closed and latched.
